Job Overview:

As Reservations Manager, you are responsible for working with the Commercial Director to achieve room revenue targets as identified in the annual hotel budget. The Reservations Manager will work within the Group, Conference and Events team and lead the team in ensuring that all group opportunities are followed up and that future business opportunities are developed.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market
  • Maximize RevPAR levels by reviewing and revising revenue strategies in conjunction with the Revenue team
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments’ adherence to achieving that strategy
  • Participate in the organization of hotel promotional activities
  • Work with the Group, Conference & Events team to maximize group conversion
  • Manage robust group and reservations processes to minimize revenue loss due to late cancellation and no shows
  • Assist in the recruiting, managing, training and development of the Team
  • Manage third-party sites and agents to ensure proper implementation of reservations procedures, and maximize conversion ratios in order to achieve targets for the department
  • Ensure Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts
  • Build strong relationships with customers, Guests and Team Members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively

What you’ll have:

  • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
  • Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques to Team Members
  • Previous experience with reservations in the hotel/leisure sector
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a high-performing team positioned to exceed targets
  • Previous experience in the same or similar role
  • Accountable and resilient
  • Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
