Job Overview:

As a Senior Experience Design Researcher, you will work in a human-centered design model to build an outstanding journey through every part of a guest’s experience — from the time our guests dream of travel, until their stay is complete, and beyond. We believe that design happens in many functions across our organization, and we deliver better experiences to our guests when we’re working together to build, test, and learn; focusing on user outcomes.
You will capture customer data using proper research methodologies in a lean fashion while remaining objective in representing findings. You will manage and independently drive research and data collection on small and large product initiatives. You will represent the customer within the team; this includes supporting and validating big-picture, 40,000-foot concepts to ground-level implementation without missing a beat. You will be responsible for evaluative and generative research through quantitative and qualitative methodologies. This could take the form of testing prototypes through user interviews, coordinating in-depth usability testing, mining user analytics, suggesting A/B tests, and any other research needs that arise.

What you’ll do:

  • Design customer-appropriate qualitative and quantitative research study scripts/questionnaires
  • Work independently in a fast-paced, agile, distributed environment
  • Support multi-functional teams
  • Know the latest on emerging research technologies and see opportunities
  • Apply knowledge of research techniques to inform study design, script writing, etc.
  • Work with the rest of the Experience Design team to ensure research findings are shared and incorporated into other initiatives
  • Analyze feedback and summarize findings for the team
  • Work with product teams to understand needs and requirements

What you’ll have:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Good command of PowerPoint and other presentation tools
  • Experience in research moderation/facilitation
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
  • Self-starter; proactive; motivated
  • Ability to travel 10% annually
  • Digitally and technically curious and savvy
  • Ability to adapt to changes in study schedule and scope
  • Experience with UserTesting.com; Tobii eye tracking; Qualtrics; or similar platforms
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in Research or a related field
  • Experience in questionnaire design/development
  • Seven (7) + years of professional experience in Research or a related field
  • Must thrive in a collaborative work environment and be willing to seek input from other team members
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize, show initiative and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Two (2) years of experience in user experience research
  • Experience in lean research/validation environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience in research, consumer insights, analysis, customer feedback listening tools, preferably within a human-centered design or agile environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related
