Position Summary:

The Ground Maintenance Technician position must utilize appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions on specialized equipment and specialized parts of equipment. This includes inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and overhauling all ground support equipment and components including the following: truck chassis, body, and drive-train components on a variety of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes data entry to record work assignments and will communicate with other Company personnel as needed.
  • Responsible for consistently practicing safety-conscious and environmentally conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, painting, bodywork, and other technical work as required on all Ground Support Equipment.

What you’ll have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency.
  • Should have a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and/or industrial powered systems.
  • Must have successfully completed a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school or have a minimum of three years of documented Ground Support Equipment experience.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and coordinate repairs with other GMTs and outside vendors.
  • Must be able to respond to customers’ needs with minimum direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including fixed or rotating shifts, both indoors and outdoors, including traveling, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals, and electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and/or industrial powered systems.
  • More than 6 months of experience and/or training in an automotive or industrial-powered mechanical environment.
