Position Summary:

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) position is located within Risk Advisory Services business line and the Strategic Risk Practice at Grant Thornton. The chief role of the ERM consultant is to plan, design, monitor, and implement risk management processes and programs for clients at all levels of maturity. ERM consultants are responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor financial, operational, and strategic risk topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze risks within a client’s business units and effectively report these risks to clients and their respective internal stakeholders.
  • Address and solve for the strategic, financial, and operational risk management objectives within a client’s organization.
  • Identify and manage risks to the organization, its employees, stakeholders, assets and operations and develop ERM strategies, objectives and policies that will establish the framework, tools and procedures to achieve successful risk identification, measurement, and management within best practice standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to promote risk control awareness, ownership and accountability.
  • Engage and develop effective working relationships to support cooperative responses to risk management matters and issues.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required. Master’s degree or equivalent higher education degree (MBA degree) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A demonstrated ability to perform analytical and detail-oriented tasks; and/or
  • Experience working closely with Senior Management and Project Management in planning and carrying out strategic objectives.
  • Degrees or Certifications in an accounting or finance management field (i.e.: CPA, CFA, FRM, PRM, etc.)The following certifications would qualify (not all certifications listed are required):
  • Certified Risk Management Professional, Associate in Risk Management – ERM, Financial Risk Manager, Professional Risk Manager, Chief Information Security Analyst, or equivalent.
  • The ability to manage and execute multiple complex projects within required timeframes and expectations; demonstrated excellence in communication and presentation skills; to be able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing.
  • A working knowledge of information technology, particularly how RMIS/RMOS systems and applications integrate with business processes and operations.
  • Practical knowledge of the tools and techniques used in Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Minimum of two years of progressively complex experience in a Business or Corporate Risk Management or Consulting environment.
  • Experience working on risk governance frameworks, risk management processes, and program build, design or refinement across ERM, Compliance, and BCP programs.
