Position Summary:
The Strategic Project Manager, Risk Management will sit in the Chief Risk & Compliance Office. The SPM will support projects and initiatives related to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Information Security, Compliance and Data Privacy for the firm. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to leaders of these functional areas in the execution of the strategic vision of their programs. You will drive the development, creation and implementation of high quality, integrated cross-functional project plans for multiple initiatives in support of the firm’s overall risk management strategy. In addition, the SPM may be asked to lead or participate in special department, cross-functional, or team projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as a resource and subject matter expert for the project team and provides analytical guidance to identify innovative solutions.
- Assesses and resolves all high priority project risks as they are encountered.
- Works with stakeholders to build the business case and then plans, executes, and delivers all projects on time, on budget, and within scope.
- Works independently to develop detailed project plans with scope definition, timelines, project estimates and resource plans. Coordinates and leads regular project meetings as needed. Monitors progress against due dates, follows up with action owners, gathers status updates, escalates as needed, and provides regular status reports.
- Develops, tracks and oversees project budgets.
- Removes obstacles and impediments to ensure business and operational objectives are met.
- Manages ambiguity and consistently seeks to drive clarity among project stakeholders.
- Gathers and analyzes data from multiple sources to inform decision making.
- Collaborates on development of communications, presentations, or special events related to strategic initiatives as needed.
- Assembles and leads project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources needed.
- Facilitates collaboration on creative alternatives to project challenges with subject matter experts.
Required Education & Experience:
- Must be a team player and willing to share information with others. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated background and capabilities in project or program management with at least 6 years’ experience
- Previous experience in an accounting or professional services organization, supporting a multi-office environment, preferred.
- PMP certified highly preferred
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of a professional services organization are required.
- Strong decision-making, follow-up, follow-through, priority setting, and negotiating skills are required.
- Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Finance, Risk Management degree required
- Exceptionally organized and able to work collaboratively across multiple practices, departments, and offices.
