Position Summary:
The Flight Operations team includes aircraft pilots and pilot support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Runs diagnostics and uses results for isolation of problems to circuit board level
- Performs functional testing of control loading systems and can repair or adjust system to FAA standards
- Uses all available data and sources to verify simulated systems operation
- Works well with all levels of management
- Makes minor changes / corrections in visual environments to improve accuracy of presented scenes
- Assist in identifying update requirements
- Produces results of a consistently high standard
- Able to perform software support tasks such as radio updates and instructor page generation
- Helps generate procedures and keeps all others informed of maintenance activity
- Understands source files and uses them for problem isolation
- Provides accurate and timely updates
- Performs FAA testing to insure simulator operation
- Repairs and aligns visual display systems
- Works with minimum supervision
- Follows established OSHA and EPA guidelines and insures that workplace is maintained in a clean and safe condition
- Consistent in maintaining required documentation
- Supports and motivates others. Sets a positive example and is willing to support ‘On The Job Training’ in his/her specific skills
- Understands appropriate regulations and circulars and their impact on simulation
Required Education & Experience:
- Practical experience in computer languages and ability to generate, compile, link, and load source data for program changes, update all required radio navigation data, and instructor station controls
- Understands theory of visual projection systems, image generating systems, and environment generation techniques
- Must be capable of determining status of device through the use of diagnostics and standard troubleshooting techniques and to make corrections/repairs to board level
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum five years’ experience in maintaining simulators including computer, input/output devices, motion & control loading systems, visual systems & peripheral devices
- If you have already accepted a position with the new United, you understand and agree to remain in the assignment previously agreed upon for a period of one year and understand that you will not be considered for other positions for at least one year
- Understands application of aerodynamic data
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Must understand FAA testing requirements and be capable of performing all systems and flight test necessary to confirm simulator compliance
