Position Summary:
These positions are located in Chief Financial Office of the USDA Forest Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes financial reports generated by the financial system and determines compatibility of each with plans.
- Acts as a technical expert and assists other lower graded employees in problem solving.

- Identifies problems and improve financial management efficiency and effectiveness
- Analyzes processing flows, integration of external system interfaces, and internal subsystem modules.
- Identifies problems and discrepancies and determines if adjustments or corrections are required.
- Reviews financial systems for effectiveness of internal controls and integrity of the financial information.
Required Education & Experience:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. - Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.

- Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: experience ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting and financial management principles and standards; and/or planning and conducting financial management analyses of complex, interrelated administrative processes; and/or reviewing and analyzing financial reports generated by the financial system and determining compatibility of each with plans of the unit; and/or analyzing the effect of new or revised regulatory changes and developing applicable procedures.
- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
