Position Summary:
Supports and/or contributes to planning transportation needs for the efficient movement of volume in an effort to maximize capacity, minimize partial trailer loads and ensure service integrity for assigned areas. Directs the dispatch of transportation equipment in accordance with the Linehaul plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigates and reports schedule delays, accidents and equipment failures and implements contingency plans which ensure on-time load delivery in the event of an en-route breakdown or accident
- Ensures Linehaul dispatch and arrival rules are followed according to defined Company procedures
- Follows and communicates safety initiatives to ensure a safety-conscious culture
- Verifies the location of equipment in the dispatch system by completing yard inventories
- Enters trip details into an online system (TMS) to ensure on time delivery and pick up of trailers
- Verifies the load/unload status of trailers by completing yard checks. Timely reports missing equipment.
- Reviews and communicates Department of Transportation (DOT) roadside violations to management
- Coordinates cargo shipments to maximize the trailer volume while meeting package delivery obligations
- Collaborates with other FXG field operations to efficiently and effectively plan both contractor and equipment needs to ensure sufficient coverage for trailer movements
- Coordinates and tracks the processing and movement of FXG trailers, rental equipment, new trailers, and dollies in the FXG network
- Manages locally domiciled Unassigned Team logistics throughout the LH network to maximize the use of resources as well as minimize the tractor dwell
- In accordance with the Linehaul plan, directs the dispatch of transportation equipment

- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audiences. Ability to work productively in team environment and effectively implement operational processes
- Dispatch experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business or related area, preferred
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures and transportation regulations used in Linehaul field operations, including DOT regulations
