Position Summary:
Provide leadership at the enterprise level for technical design of significant projects. Serve as an expert resource to advise other teams and recommend solutions to technical design problems. Lead and/or assist In resolution of complex production problems. Mentor development of those in less senior positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position will provide enterprise architecture and development leadership for Shipment Enterprise Foundational Services (Shipment SEFS) projects supporting shipment core applications, programs and projects to further the company’s global and cross operating company strategies.
- The ability to create an architecture definition document that provides current, transitional, and future state architecture roadmaps.
- Plan and develop architecture runway in support of Shipment EFS projects.
- Overall coordination of business, application, data, technical and security architectures.
- Work across value streams and programs to provide and lead strategic directions to optimize business value and outcomes
- The primary duties of this role revolve around the architecture and development lead responsibilities for Shipment EFS (SEFS).
- This includes interfacing with other Architects, Product Owners, and Product Managers.
- Further this role will be responsible with coordinating with significant sized vendor partner teams.
- Additionally, this role will be responsible for creating solution designs and leading the team to implement.
- SEFS is a key enabler for several strategic priorities like Enable Interoperability, execute on Network Automation/Modernization, Revitalize B2B Segment and Transformation, Digital Strategy, IT Modernization effort.
- SEFS provides the common core and definitions that would allow multicore OpCos to seamlessly exchange information about shipment enabling interoperability.
- SEFS is also the lynchpin for modernization that will allow retirement of several legacy systems leading to simplification helping us drive dollars from run the business to change the business.
What you’ll have:
- Demonstrated capability developing, maintaining, promoting enterprise architecture
- Enterprise scale event driven architecture
- CI/CD integration experience using industry standard components and pipeline tools
- Ability to express complex technical information in a user-friendly language and style; present information effectively in one-on-one, and small group settings, including executive management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with developers, analysts, and business staff throughout the organization
- Messaging technologies (JMS, Kafka, Active MQ)
- Experience of Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodology
- Experience with Business Architecture concepts
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Ability to plan, track, and meet milestones of complex projects
- Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and abstract thinking
- API/Web Services: Restful, JSON, SOAP, WSDL, XML, Micro services
- Java/J2EE technologies including Spring Boot framework
- Cloud Native Design, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, API First Development, Test Driven Development
- Datastax Enterprise
- Bachelor’s Degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
- Requires five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
- A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
