Job Overview:
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the development of strategic directions for I&IT including the development of architectural viewpoints, models, roadmaps and designs to map out and evolve components of the WSIB enterprise architecture. This requires the completion of comprehensive business transformation and architecture assessments as well as complex reviews in support of system/infrastructure needs.
This position is responsible for leading cultural change for cloud adoption. Taking the vision and oversee the entire cloud adoption process. Developing and maintain a Cloud Strategy and co-coordinating the adoption process and developing and coordinating cloud architectures.
This position is also responsible for understanding WSIB’s Business, Application, Information (Data), Security and Technology/Cloud domains and the effective integration of solutions into the broader business and IT ecosystem. Develop and coordinate cloud architecture across these domains.
The Enterprise Architect defines, evaluates and develops architecture policies, standards, guidelines and best practices and ensures compliance with WSIB and industry standards.
What you’ll do:
- Analyses, defines, evaluates and recommends enterprise architecture requirements across the various architecture domains; business, application, data, security and technology, for large scale/enterprise wide IT systems; such as cloud systems, in order to optimize effectiveness and reuse of architecture, patterns, IT components / services.
- Collaborates in the development of the WSIB IT Strategy and IT strategic plan to ensure ongoing alignment between business outcomes and IT capabilities. Maintain and socialize the institutional of strategies (i.e. cloud strategy)
- Lead enterprise architecture service offerings and enterprise architecture functional activities to deliver on and realize enterprise architecture capabilities value propositions.
- Communicates and promotes a shared vision of the WSIB’s enterprise architecture in partnership with the Director and senior IT leadership team.
- Designs and builds the cloud infrastructure in alignment to business requirements, information security, access controls, as well as satisfying technical requirements
- Leads development of enterprise architecture/architectural blueprints, enterprise reference architectures, technology roadmaps that will be leveraged in an integrated fashion across the WSIB.
- Leads cross functional team of subject matter experts in the development of strategic and enterprise architectures such as the design of Cloud Architecture
What you’ll have:
- Demonstrated understanding of industry standards, architecture frameworks and methodologies including TOGAF, Zachman, FEA Frameworks.
- Specific certifications considered an asset include TOGAF, IASA (IT Architect), CCSP (cloud certification)
- Undergraduate Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related discipline or equivalent
- 8-10 years of experience in Architecture with demonstrated expertise in one or more architecture domains such as business, information/data, application/integration, technology/cloud, security
- Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related discipline or equivalent
- At least 5 years as an Enterprise Architect
