Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying organizational or operational problems and developing solutions; and
- Providing technical guidance to communities and governmental partners on emergency management policies.
- Providing technical guidance to State and Local stakeholders on emergency management principles;
- Interpreting laws, policies, and regulations to make programmatic determinations on complex or unprecedented emergency management initiatives; and
- Collaborating with State and Local stakeholders on emergency management to resolve disaster challenges;
- Preparing reports and delivering briefings to leadership on process improvement practices.
- Collaborating with functional counterparts to resolve problems and ensure proper delivery of assistance.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve the execution of disaster efforts for an organization.
- Leveraging/optimizing resources to meet the recovery needs of impacted communities.
- Assisting in the delivery of support services to individuals and communities.
- Providing coordination, guidance, and assistance to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the capability to continue essential functions.
Required Education & Experience:
- You qualify for this position at the IC-12 level (starting salary $87,431) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-11) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer;
- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
- You qualify for this position at the IC-11 level (starting salary $72,995) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-09) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
