Position Summary:

Sappi Limited requires a Global Service Team Lead eBusiness B2B to play a critical role in ensuring the success of Sappi’s digital go-to-market strategy. The eBusiness Technical Lead provides coordination, oversight, and leadership to the eBusiness team for the analyses, planning, design, implementation, and management of Sappi’s customer-facing digital applications, integrations, and technology assets. The eBusiness Technical Lead manages and oversees all aspects of eBusiness IT initiatives and works collaboratively with Trading Partners, Business Process Engineers and Global Process Owners to deliver digital products, services, and solutions that align with business strategies, goals, and processes. The eBusiness Technical Lead must have a strong understanding of IT enterprise architecture frameworks, concepts, and design principles sufficient to lead the development and implementation of major components of the digital enterprise landscape and speak and write effectively to communicate these concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments, informing enterprise stakeholders of emerging opportunities, and defining the policies and principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise.
  • Lead large projects that are typically global in scope, managing workstreams, writing progress reports, delivering presentations, and liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to expectations.
  • Work with business and IT leadership to establish proper governance and management of eBusiness systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Identify risks and form contingency plans to ensure that Sappi’s eBusiness platforms, systems, and applications are adequately supported, patched, secured, and compliant with data privacy laws.
  • Evaluate, develop, and manage Sappi’s diverse eBusiness portfolio of work, analyzing existing operations, updating work schedules, scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements, and performing troubleshooting as required.
  • Lead a global team of developers and analysts across multiple disciplines and technology backgrounds, determining project requirements, delegating task assignments, and providing mentoring, motivation, and oversight of their work

Required Education & Experience:

  • Experience leading large projects using Agile and Waterfall project management practices
  • Deep understanding of system architecture frameworks, web application frameworks, integration models and enterprise application development lifecycle best practices
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
  • 4 Year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or Information
  • Management or equivalent work experience
  • Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • 5 to 8 years related experience in a technical lead, software development lead, technical project manager, or another role of equivalent experience
