Position Summary:

The Human Resources team helps attract and recruit diverse talent, and works to provide employees with competitive benefits, leadership resources and the support to be successful at United. This group is made up of diverse individuals all working together to provide strategic HR support to leaders to help build the best airline in the history of aviation.
The Director – International HR – EMEIA position is responsible for partnering with business unit leaders to define and deliver innovative, critical initiatives and solutions that align with our Core4 values. Must be an inspiring leader in many areas, including but not limited to strategy, org design, employee engagement, diagnosing talent, training/coaching/mentoring, regulatory compliance and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, evaluate, create and implement HR strategies to advance the organization forward including but not limited to, workforce planning and development, organizational development and performance, org design, HR employment practices, rewards and recognition strategies, diversity, employee relations and succession planning
  • Maintain knowledge of local market trends, best practices, regulatory changes and technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
  • Strategic leadership for human resources and talent acquisition including the management and development of HR/TA team members
  • Responsible for providing HR leadership to influence strategic business decisions, guide and support for their client group
  • Evaluate for local implementation
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with business client groups, both in India and US, to understand their department objectives and collaborate on implementation
  • Establish and maintain positive relationship with assigned Business Partners
  • Serve as a United representative within the community and work to build local relationships that will allow United to positively impact local communities while strengthening our overall brand
  • Collaborate with Senior HR Leadership and Business Partners to implement HR and business strategies/objectives

Required Education & Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with proven customer service orientation
  • Experience at leading a high performing team passionate about delivering business results
  • College graduate
  • Significant experience in labor relations, negotiations and working with union groups
  • Master’s degree
  • Highly effective at building partnerships and influencing leaders at all levels of an organization
  • High level of HR and business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships develop and deliver fair and equitable solutions
  • Strong collaborator with other HR support teams and business partners
  • Significant experience leading others
  • Extensive and dynamic HR experience/Generalist experience with emphasis on business partnerships, direct experience supporting business leaders, employee advocacy, change activities, HR administration
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be self-motivated and have an enhance ability to prioritize/plan and execute using good business judgment in a fast paced environment
