Position Summary:

This position will be involved in all aspects of the U.S. income tax compliance and provision processes for the U.S. Deutsche Post DHL entities. The Senior Tax Analyst will report directly to the Tax Manager and work closely with other analysts within the department to ensure deadlines are met and goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal and external consultants
  • Assist with developing staff members on tax technical items as well as business soft skills
  • Preparation and review of extensions and quarterly estimated tax calculations.
  • Lead the compliance process which includes the preparation and review of federal, international (including 5472, 5471, 1120-F and 8858), US territorial, state and municipal corporate income and franchise tax returns.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly income tax provision work papers including maintenance of effective tax rate schedules, flux analysis in deferred balances and reserve schedules.
  • Assist with tax department process and procedure documentation.
  • Preparation and review of monthly tax account reconciliations.
  • Resolve discrepancies and adjustments with tax authorities
  • Research complex tax issues and prepare adhoc reporting for Management
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Work closely with the audit and planning team to assist in their information gathering as well as to ensure audit findings are properly incorporated in future compliance filings.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  • Supply Chain, Aviation and Logistics experience a plus
  • Familiarity Oracle and SAP a plus
  • Experience with Corptax Compliance and Corptax Provision
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Experience with Alteryx and KNIME
  • Tax experience with a large national CPA firm or within a large business tax department with practical hands-on experience
  • Solid understanding of the income tax accounting (ASC740 & IAS12)
  • 5 – 10 years of tax experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws and concepts
  • CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation is desired
