Position Summary:

DHL Supply Chain offers standardized warehousing, transport and value-added services and in order to deliver our customer promise we need to achieve excellent operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the attainment and retention of all HMRC approvals necessary for DHL Supply Chain’s Customs and Excise and International Trade business.
  • Be an active member of the C&E Management Team in contributing to achieving our goals, strategies & initiatives
  • Acting as a key contributor in the Brexit programme
  • Build great stakeholder relationships, play a part in both communications and engagement to build knowledge and raise awareness and alignment of C&E across our business
  • Provide SME and contribute to the shaping and implementation the Customs and Excise strategy in response to changing legislation, practices and demands.
  • Act as an Owner for C&E deliverables throughout the O2D stages
  • Establish close relationships with Clients, Internal Customers and regulatory agencies
  • Act as the C&E Steering Committee member for Project Implementations
  • Shape and implement initiatives to continuously improve
  • Provide SME for tax compliance and business development across both Customs and Excise regimes.
  • Engagement with relevant trade bodies / associations in furtherance of business and the compliance agenda

Required Education & Experience:

  • Creativity and ability to develop novel ideas and solutions
  • A deep understanding of the business application, legal basis and compliance principles of Excise and Customs
  • Strong consultative and analytical skills
  • Customs & Excise compliance audit creation and management
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Implementation and management of Customs and Excise Procedures
  • Able to communicate equally well at functional / operational and Management level internally and with customers
  • Deep functional understanding of both Excise & Customs processes and principles
  • Strong consultative and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a consultant/advisory role and to develop strong business

  • Recognised customs / international trade qualification desirable
