Position Summary:

An exciting position has arisen within TFG Sports Design centre, for an Apparel Ladieswear designer. We are looking for a responsible, organised individual, who enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic environment where the customer is the central focus of everything we do.
The designer’s role will be to take charge of guiding all steps of the design process, from initial conception to final manufacture processes predominantly in the Ladies Sports streetwear space. A strong grasp of graphic direction, printing techniques and branding is essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design monthly QR capsules.
  • Provide an effective test options in order to establish new product categories, and relevant iterations on existing product lines.
  • Provide the buying teams with regular relevant and aspirational trend information that is brand right
  • Briefing Graphic designer and outwork team on trend and branding direction.
  • Create look and feel for seasonal merchandise, based on global trend and key lessons learnt (includes direction on silhouette, styling and fabric, print and colour). Essential to have a commercial eye and be able to interpret international trends for the Sportscene Ladies customer
  • Incorporate brand handwriting / personality into the ranges.
  • Provide comprehensive and technical CAD drawings and tech packs, to ensure relevant and cost effective product
  • Managing the design process -from briefing patternmaker thoroughly and working closely with the sample room to ensure that samples are effectively executed.

What you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design
  • Agility and team player mind-set a must
  • Interpersonal skills, assertive and able to communicate at all levels, as well as present to large groups
  • High level of commitment and have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to source and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Practical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and trims
  • Must have very good knowledge of designing and processing garments with garment prints on.
  • Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
  • Have a high degree of decision making ability and be service orientated
  • Excellent planning, organising and multi-tasking ability required. Time management is key.
  • 2-5 years work experience concluded at a Clothing manufacturer.
