Position Summary:
Peloton is seeking a Design & Technical Program Manager to join the Software Development team. This team is responsible for the design and development of our member-facing software experiences – including but not limited to the software on Peloton Apps (including iOS, Android, Web App, TV).
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers and engineering managers to conduct feasibility studies to support product management as they define feature and product requirements and scope.
- Partner with product management, product design, UX research, analytics, and engineering teams to manage end-to-end software programs for Peloton’s digital products (including iOS, Android, Web App, TV).
- Plan and lead cross-functional project kickoffs and stand up meetings. Coordinate and communicate with relevant stakeholders on a project basis, including Marketing, Content, and Legal.
- Understand resourcing capacity across your program teams, and align cross-functional team members on attainable product roadmap milestones. Maintain project plans and resource allocations that allow for quick and efficient understanding of resource capacity.
- Document and track project and program timelines, milestones, and dependencies. Work proactively with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks and remove blockers to enable the team to work productively toward project goals. Communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans to the broader team and executives.
- Manage the intake and planning process for new projects. Work with engineers, designers, researchers, product analysts, and managers to review project scope, estimate effort, and plan timelines.
- Attend design and engineering stand-ups, sprint grooming, and sprint planning meetings to stay informed on project status and prioritization decisions, and readily help the team address blockers as they arise.
- Lead teams through change including on project plans and priorities, while managing communication and downstream impacts to other projects and stakeholders.
Required Education & Experience:
- You have experience with A/B and Beta testing
- You’ve led program teams consisting of Product Manager, Designers, Engineers, and SDETs to deliver some amazing and well known experiences.
- 4+ years experience working in a Design Program Management and/or Technical Program
- Management role on a software product team.
- You are acutely in tune with Product Design and UX Research processes and deliverables and are a strong advocate for designers as well as the users they design for.
- Self-motivated and self-managed. Able to adapt in a new space, comfortably navigate ambiguity, and show strong ownership in your program area.
- Experience with product development best practices
- Builds strong relationships throughout the company and earns the trust of team members.
- You also understand how the QA team is an integral part of the team, and are able to help facilitate issues across QA, Engineering Design, and Product.
- Experience working with engineering teams, including familiarity with application development and store / release lifecycles, and running sprint planning including prioritizing a backlog
- Experience delivering software for high volume major consumer brand(s).
- Strong listener: able to deeply understand the team’s needs, ask effective questions to keep a project moving in the right direction, and proactively pursue feedback.
