Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for entering and maintaining of natural resource data and database
  • Communicate orally and in writing to work effectively with others in order to obtain data, for conveying complex procedural techniques, prepare reports, etc.
  • Carry out recurring assignments independently without specific instructions on data base management.
  • Analyze data for program of work to identify needs to assist with recreation, trails and facilities priorities
  • Duties listed are at the full performance GS-09 level.
  • Develop queries and updates, program routines, and reports to expedite processing of resource and management data
  • Obtain information and discuss issues and operations with supervisors and employees regarding recreation, trails and facilities
  • Use a full range of digital data collection techniques and perform scanning, digitizing, and other support functions, as needed, to identify changes to ensure a correct and complete tabular database.
  • Notify and train other staff with Infrastructure and Geographic Information System updates
  • Analyze information gathered to determine the appropriate steps and to provide tentative recommendations for data.
  • Exercise with limited control of the corporate applications and corporate/regional data, both geospatial and tabular.
  • Identify conditions involved and analyze the information gathered to determine the appropriate steps and to provide tentative recommendations
  • Extract and assemble information, conduct analysis, and develop reports or presentations
  • Validate data to ensure consistency (i.e., collection, inventory, input, and reporting) and that it meets stated requirements.
  • Manage an organization?s Infrastructure database and provides support in Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Correct data discrepancies, troubleshoot errors, and document database modifications.
  • Make determinations on mandatory and required data fields, developing data field definitions and assigning user roles.
  • Enter and compile results of Infrastructure of recreation, trails and facilities inventories and surveys for upward reporting purposes

Required Education & Experience:

  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
  • Have successfully completed 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or have received a master’s or equivalent graduate degree that is directly related to the work of this position. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
  • Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
  • 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as meeting TWO of the following:
  • Assist with a variety of administrative duties associated with data services, such as gathering and verifying data and pulling tabular and geospatial reports;
