Position Summary:

The credit and product owner role is a role that includes the end to end ownership of the design and develop of the securities (Lombard) lending proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrates and develops the product CVP
  • Significantly contribute to the development of operational processes required to sell this product.
  • Works independently to undertake market/competitor/ customer focused research and document/present findings
  • Ensure that the system being built aligns the CVP and product strategy.
  • Undertakes feasibility evaluation/testing with limited supervision
  • Liaises with the stakeholders on secured lending matters
  • Significantly contribute to the development of the product strategy and CVP.
  • Defines, documents and presents ideas and product concepts
  • Undertakes model/ prototype development, testing, reporting and changes with limited supervision
  • Works at a team level, and is accountable for service delivery within a function/team.
  • Understands and maximizes the utilization of different technology enabled applications and interfaces within the design and use of the products
  • Liaise with the credit risk functions in order to ensure credit requirements are built into the CVP, product strategy and system specifications.
  • Undertakes final product testing/validation/changes and co-ordinates with various business partners to ensure a smooth product build
  • Documents internal processes and issues internal process notes
  • Understands key financial drivers and metrics relating to secured lending and has the ability to make product development decisions based on these metrics
  • Undertakes knowledge management processes and practices with limited supervision

Required Education & Experience:

  • Working with building of product platforms will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Lending and other regulations such as National Credit Act, Financial Markets Act, Long-term Insurance Act will be advantageous.
  • Relevant degree. Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science etc.
  • At least 3 years of Secured Lending experience in any financial role
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Working with securities based lending products will be advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders in other areas of the business
