Position Summary:

The Manager, Compliance will sever as a principal member of the Security team. This role will be critical to executing the overall strategy to effectively track, audit and report on various compliance-related activities for the Safety and Security functions.  Specifically, this position will ensure that required auditing for both the building security and event security teams is conducted in conformance with Major League Baseball’s Best Stadium Operating Practices (BSOP), the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Safety Act and all other federal, state and local regulations.  The Manager, Compliance also provides operational support to Legal, Safety, and members of the organization to ensure understanding and conformance of the Chicago Cubs’ covenants, deed, bylaws, guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and ensure completion of after-action tracker
  • Updates compliance tracking system with revised documents as required
  • Coordinates compliance adherence for all building security and guest-facing Security Services
  • Associates to ensure execution of policies and procedures is in conformance with department SOP’s
  • Manages the administrative operations for monthly and topical compliance meetings, including, but not limited to the functions related to preparation of meeting minutes, notices of hearings and results of hearings letters, Notices of Violations, required research, etc.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance, and abide by established policies and procedures
  • Maintains accurate records of all verbal and written communication, including electronic communications pertaining to properties, including data entry
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet needs of department and organization as determined by management
  • Coordinates with department managers for scheduling and execution of community inspections
  • Supervises Red Team audits and other compliance inspectors
  • Assists management within the operations department with the development or revision of policies or administrative procedures; conduct orientation and training of operations department as needed
  • Consistently reviews and audits systems
  • Ensures that the Red Team and other functions are completed in their entirety by tasking compliance inspectors with re-check and follow-up inspections
  • Inspects properties and property records to determine status/progress prior to applicable meetings
  • Responds to inquiries from members, agents, vendors, architects, contractors, staff and others regarding Safety Act and BSOP related matters

Required Education & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to take a process from conception to completion
  • Track record of providing analytical insight to day-to-day operations and make measurable change and improvements
  • 4-year undergraduate degree at an accredited university or college in Industrial, Technological
  • Operations (or other STEM related field) or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a compliance-related role
  • Proven capability to be creative and seek proactive solutions to problems and situations before and/or as they arise with little or no direction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
