 Job Overview:

The Foreign Exchange and Local Markets Rates team is responsible for the production environment for a wide range of applications ranging from Pricing, Risk management, Sales tools, to Risk and PNL consolidation, providing application support to our Currencies and Local Markets Rates businesses.
We are searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who will lead the front line support functions for FX eCommerce / eTrading businesses. The role will work in partnership with the business running the application production platform, providing quick resolutions to their issues, drive stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to help us and the business succeed.

What you’ll do:

  • Working closely as a trusted partner for senior business heads
  • Acts as Technology partner engaging with Technology Leads throughout the software lifecycle to release applications that are production-ready, scalable, reliable, observable focusing on identifying limitations in applications and associated processes, procedures as a part of Continuous improvement for the systems being supported.
  • Review and sign off all application and infrastructure changes impacting FX during the weekly Change Management review regionally.
  • Communicate effectively with operations and technology partners on a regional or global basis.
  • Ability to handle incidents, problems and change at a global enterprise level. Calm and analytical when faced with major incidents on critical systems.
  • Developing various automated software solutions to improve efficiency and stability of systems.
  • Document End User Guide with detailed knowledge about the application product and Standard Operating procedures which needs to be followed by Business and Technology teams.
  • Acts as a partner with Regional/ Global business stakeholders, managing client services.
  • Champion stability initiatives to enable application high availability for Business-As-Usual which includes better monitoring, failover and resiliency
  • Performs controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow-through to resolution.
  • Leading Foreign Exchange eCommerce and Electronic Trading platforms support teams in the region
  • Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, work closely with technology and infra partners to address the Capacity gaps within the systems supported.
  • Focus on people development and deputize for the regional FXLM support manager
  • Mentoring staff , resource planning and managing day-to-day issues involved in debugging, diagnosing
  • Identify key application patterns and implement self-healing and resiliency designs in support of better service level objectives.

What you’ll have:

  • Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
  • Knowledge of databases – Oracle, Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience with application support would be an added advantage, but not essential.
  • UNIX (AIX/ Linux) environment
  • Knowledge on Geneos ITRS monitoring would be an added advantage
  • 7-10 years experience in an Application Support role.
  • Experience with people management direct / indirect.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, great teammate.
  • Experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications.
