Job Overview:
We are seeking a Technology Risk Officer that will support the Citi Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis Technology organization within GFT. The Technology Risk Officer will serve as the Auditable Unit (AU) Coordinator and be responsible for managing and coordinating the Manager Control Assessment (MCA). This includes ongoing support and oversight of controls, monitoring activities and metrics for this business unit. In addition, this role will include facilitating and executing formal risk governance routines that enable the identification, mitigation, and escalation of ongoing operational risks.
What you’ll do:
- Monitors exceptions to dispute policy and identifies drivers of exceptions.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Leverages data to examine impacts to Customer Experience and Regulatory breaks.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior.
- Lead the management and coordination of the Managers Control Assessment (MCA) for the division.
- Develop Quarterly Risk Assessment reports that include analysis of risk metrics and control performance.
- Managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Works closely with business partners on findings and makes recommendations on improving practices.
- Develops procedural implementation and change management process with Operations and Reporting team to ensure proper governance and controls exist.
- Examines procedures for consistency and gaps relative to regulations in addition to impacts on customer experience.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Identifying thematic or specific control gaps, and partnering to develop action plans to drive risk mitigation and remediation
- Conducts internal testing of dispute processes to ensure control.
- Managing risk appetite metrics to ensure successful delivery of mitigating actions
- Oversee and coordinate the identification, documentation and remediation of issues and corrective action plans (CAPs).
What you’ll have:
- Prior audit experience and/or deep knowledge of the issue management lifecycle is preferred
- Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions
- 3+ years experience in the risk management lifecycle and the use of risk and control assessments in a large financial institution.
- 5+ years experience in the end-to-end Managers Control Assessment (MCA) processes
- 5+ years’ experience developing, implementing, or testing controls within 1st, 2nd, or 3rd line risk management
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the iCAPS system for the entry and oversight of issues and corrective action plans
- Effective organizational and influencing skills required
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization
- 5+ years’ experience within a technology focused organization
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in financial services
- Proven track record and accountability in making quick decision that have an immediate impact on business financials
