Position Summary:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies  has an opportunity available for a Merchandiser to join the team at their KZN store. The main purpose of this role will be to ensure that basic Dis-Chem merchandising standards are properly executed and maintained. Provide proper customer service in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to designated area.
  • Ensure you are aware of new products and have up to date product knowledge.
  • Immediately report all discrepancies to management.
  • Uphold Dis-Chem merchandising policy and procedure standards.
  • Manage restocking of merchandise and supplies as needed to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Ensure the stock on the shelves has not reached sell by date.
  • Report low stock levels, items that are out of stock, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
  • Ensure shelves and products are neatly presented and visible at all times.
  • Ensure all out of stock queries from customers are followed up with the customer service out of stock list.
  • Assist with the counting of stock files and general stocktaking.
  • Ensure delivered stock or stock pulled from the store room are stored and packed in the correct space immediately.
  • Report bad and suspicious behaviour – staff and customers.
  • Ensure that full range of products is on the shelves at all times.
  • Maintain daily physical upkeep of merchandise and be responsible for your designated stack in the store room.
  • Ensure stock is rotated on a continual, first in first out basis.
  • Facilitate rotation of stoke on a regular basis and adhere to Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
  • Ensure the correct uniform and badge is worn at all times.
  • Keep the storeroom organized, neat and tidy.
  • Assist in the training of new and current staff members when needed.
  • Ensure labels are correct at all times.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem operating standards and layouts.
  • Identify and report damaged and expired stock immediately to management
  • Ensure all customer stock queries are dealt with and resolved.

Required Education & Experience:

  • 1 Year working experience in Retail
  • 0- 6 months Retail work experience
  • Computer Skills, Technical Equipment (Scanners, check pricing). Numerical skills.
  • Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate
