 Job Overview:

The Workstation Services- Software and Image Engineering team within EIS is responsible for establishing and maintaining client computing Enterprise standards for 20000+ desktops & laptops. One of the key focuses is the ongoing development of the Canadian Tire Windows Desktop. This position is accountable for the design, build, and implementation of managed and secure client computing technologies in office, warehouse and retail environments. This position also involves new product evaluations (hardware & software) and 2nd level support of the existing desktop environment. The chosen individual will gain experience and a sound knowledge of Windows 7/10, and exposure to PC networking in a large complex heterogeneous computer environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Initiate change requests (RFC) to promote new technology into production
  • Participate in designing new enhancements to the Canadian Tire desktop environment
  • Package vendor software using Flexera InstallShield for deployment in SCCM.
  • Plan, test and document new products for the Canadian Tire Windows 7/10 environment
  • Provide 2nd level technical support for the current PC/LAN environment
  • Test various components for the Windows 7/10 desktop environment
  • Interface with clients to establish delivery timelines for software packaging requests

  • Active Directory including Group Policy design and implementation for windows desktop client lockdown and management an asset
  • Second year college/university, from I.T. or computer science program
  • Strong operating system knowledge of Windows 7/10 required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft SCCM 2016 an asset
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong PC hardware knowledge, Lenovo, MAC and Dell (thin client) would be an asset
  • Strong scripting skills (batch, vbscript, powershell) would be an asset
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written)
