Position Summary:
The Business Analyst will be part of the Government vertical and will take a leading role in the data analysis, data cleaning and data uploads.
The individual must be comfortable working with Big Data and clean, analyse, interpret and report back on large data sets. As a secondary priority the role will support in developing project plans for the Government projects nationally and to coordinate on the respective projects with all the relevant stakeholders.
As such the individual must have Project Management skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service new and existing clients at a strategic, tactical and operational level
- Working with Big Data: Clean, analyse, interpret and report back on large data sets received from DSV clients.
- Provide clients with project updates and reports and hold periodic meetings Key Performance Measures:
- Support the Government Operations teams
- Understand the client’s business and supply chain requirements as input to developing and maintaining databases, project plans, execution plans and Reporting Dashboards
- Developing and maintaining project databases for use by operations and clients.
- Support the sales team when approaching potential clients and compiling tender responses Duties:
- Provide periodic on-site support to Government clients
- Developing and maintaining Reporting Dashboards using excel and or BI Platforms (PowerBI and/or Tableau)
- Develop a strong, trusting relationship with clients
- Data cleaning, execution plan development and project plan development
Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or environment preferable
- Customer service/ relations experience
- Flexibility in terms of job functions
- MS-Project or similar project management software exposure
- BI platform working knowledge (PowerBI or Tableau)
- Matric
- Disposition to be accurate and pay attention to detail
- Ability to provide innovative solutions and present ideas in a user-friendly language
- Ability to manage data for the Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Free State and North West Regions
- Any ERP system exposure
- Degree or diploma in: Industrial Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or Computer Science or Management
- Systems in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills and experience
- SAPICS qualifications (SCOR, CSCP, etc.)
- Good knowledge and experience of MS Excel, Project and Access. The ideal candidate should be able to write advanced excel formulas and compile pivot tables.
- SQL, VBA, Python or R skills
- Access, SQL, VBA, Python or R skills
- Any ERP system exposure (SAP, Cargowrite or similar)
- Ability to run multiple data analytics projects at the same time
- Ability to conduct research into data & database issues, standards and products as required
- Inventory Optimisation software exposure, like JustEnough, OptiMatix, Netstock, Forecast Pro, Slimstock etc.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
