Position Summary:
Delivery of Pension Administration services to various customers of the Balfour Beatty Pensions Centre including DB and DC members of the Balfour Beatty Pension Fund (the Fund) and related parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct management of a team of administrators, adopting effective people management skills
- Facilitate Trustee discretion approvals and deal with complaints
- Daily review and reassessment of priorities to meet business demands
- Resolution of internal and external queries via telephone, email and letter Process and check pension case workflows across a wide range of DB Sections of the Fund and various case types including deaths, retirements, and transfer outs
- Work closely with direct reports to assess performance for input into PDRsand salary reviews
- Develop a detailed working knowledge of data held on the pensions system, taking responsibility for the quality of data updates
- Identify procedure efficiency gains, liaising with Assistant Pensions Centre Manager and others prior to change implementation
- Work with the Assistant Pensions Centre Manager, Pensions Centre Operations Manager and other team leaders and managers to ensure that all business as usual activities, calendar events, project and process improvement work is delivered as required to customers within agreed service standards, managing resources accordingly
- Respond to DC Section queries, liaising with the Funds DC Administration provider, as required
- Develop a detailed working knowledge and understanding of the Rules ofthe BBPF enabling complex calculations to be undertaken and checked
- Develop an understanding of the processes for the regular data and interface exchanges for the DC
- Section of the Fund ss applicable, CRM (Client Relationship Management) work including BBPF helpdesk emails and calls
- Management of work for a team of administrators, ensuring adherence with SLAs
- Work closely with other team leaders and managers, agreeing priorities and resource use across of the teams
Required Education & Experience:
- Ability to calculate pensions and interpret scheme rules
- ability to apply to any scheme
- Previous pension administration experience of occupational Defined Contribution schemes is desirable
- Ability to plan workloads and work to strict deadlines
- Experience of day-to-day pension administration of DB pension schemes is essential
- Minimum 5+ years pensions experience including experience in a supervisory role
