Position Summary:
A Principal Specialist of APA will lead a team to perform sub-processes of the End-to-End Fixed Assets processing responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures, policies, SOX, compliance and business partner service level agreements.
There will be a close relationship with the Global Process Owner / leaders, Vodafone Procurement Category managers, Local Business Partners within the Technology area and the Indian Shared Service center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain world-class accounting and controls. Ensure robust standard accounting practices and controls across all areas under our control.
- Contribute to business planning for the management of the APA processes and staff.
- As a key member of the Community of Practice (COP) wider leadership team ensure your involvement in driving the successes of the company as well as delivering the APA COP Agenda
- Work with other departments to ensure all cross departmental issues are resolved. Such as tax compliance, Treasury and cash management for FX rates, R2R for GL coding.
- Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring compliance to all relevant Group policies.
- Contribute to the strategic vision for World Class APA processes. Ensure this is communicated, agreed upon, and enforced.
- Identify promote and implement initiatives to improve the APA in line with Global Process Owner/leader strategy and performance metrics.
- Coaching, developing and establish succession plans for your team.
- Establishing of key deliverables and ensuring that the team can deliver against these.
- Ensure adherence to Policies and Procedures impacting APA. Address breaches and ensure regular review and update of policies.
- Ensure that all Vodacom and Vodafone compliance requirements are met: SOX, Internal Audit, External Audit, Key control questionnaires.
- Provide regular updates on performance of the sub process/es
- Understanding of the month with core numbers and variances understood i.e., once off impacts, recurring impacts etc.
- Provide support when required on merger & acquisition activities impacting the Assets & Project Accounting area
- Support the team in resolving operational process and control issues
What you’ll have:
- Experience in IFRS interpretation as well as practical application within business.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in Finance within the ICT sector, specifically telecommunications
- Communication skills.
- ERP operational knowledge
- Management accountancy, P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flows. Knowledge of how period end information is used within the organisation drive business decisions
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS
- 5 – 8 years’ experience, ideally within a shared service center, transactional operational environment; inclusive of at least 3 years leadership/supervisory experience.
