Position Summary:

The Area Property Compliance Managers sit within the Property Directorate’s Property Compliance team and report into the Head of Property Compliance. The post holders Carry out the property compliance audit and assurance programmes to provide appropriate governance and controls and provide statutory compliance reports to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out statutory and mandatory compliance audits across multiple regions.
  • Responsible for the provision of support and demand challenge of technical solutions, to ensure they are in line with business unit policy, legislative compliance and represent value for money.
  • Support the development of appropriate technical policies, standards, and guidance – working closely with corporate Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Sustainability teams to ensure legislative compliance.
  • Provide effective and timely feedback into supplier management of the supply chain.
  • Proactively communicate and build sustainable relationships with a range of stakeholders and customers across MoJ Property in relation to property compliance.
  • Participate in professional networks within MoJ, wider Government and external industry to share best practice.
  • Work with Integrator and FM provider to provide compliance assurance to the Head of Property Compliance
  • Accountable for accuracy and validation of all compliance reporting and ownership of mitigation plans as required.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Excellent capability in technical challenge and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral and presentational
  • Post holder must have or be willing to work towards a professional technical qualification or equivalent in Engineering, Building Fabric or H&S and membership of relevant professional technical bodies i.e. RICS, IWFM, IET, NEBOSH, etc.
  • Experience of working in cross-functional teams and in a matrix management structure.
  • Comprehensive experience and track record of providing technical assurance to a large operational estate.
  • Able to demonstrate continued professional development in technical areas, health and safety and management.
  • Hold or be working towards professional technical qualification or equivalent in Engineering, Building Fabric or H&S and membership of relevant professional technical bodies i.e. RICS, IWFM, IET, NEBOSH, etc.
  • Proficient/expert in more than one technical dimension.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to assimilate a wide range of data sources to inform decision making.
  • Knowledge or experience of continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Lean, Six Sigma etc.
