Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares description of artifacts found.
  • Prepares information such as reports, maps, and photographs.
  • Identifies and packages artifacts to be removed from the site.
  • Complies, summarizes and interprets data obtained during inventories.
  • Participates in cultural resource inventories to identify cultural, historic and/or paleontological resources.
  • Determines inventory methods to use, identifies area to be inventoried and schedules inventory.
  • Assists with on-the ground field studies and surveys.
  • Plans and carries out non-complex cultural resource field inventories.

Required Education & Experience:

  • You cannot hold an active real estate license: nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: working with a professional archeologist, planning and carrying out field studies to identify cultural, historic and/or paleontological resources and writing reports based on findings; and applying and adapting a wide range of established data analysis methods to fit a variety of circumstances.
