Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares description of artifacts found.
- Prepares information such as reports, maps, and photographs.
- Identifies and packages artifacts to be removed from the site.
- Complies, summarizes and interprets data obtained during inventories.
- Participates in cultural resource inventories to identify cultural, historic and/or paleontological resources.
- Determines inventory methods to use, identifies area to be inventoried and schedules inventory.
- Assists with on-the ground field studies and surveys.
- Plans and carries out non-complex cultural resource field inventories.
Required Education & Experience:
- You cannot hold an active real estate license: nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: working with a professional archeologist, planning and carrying out field studies to identify cultural, historic and/or paleontological resources and writing reports based on findings; and applying and adapting a wide range of established data analysis methods to fit a variety of circumstances.
