Position Summary:

Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron’s upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network. We are headquartered in Houston, Texas, and have offices worldwide supporting trading activities, contracts, and midstream assets for the trading, and transportation for Chevron feedstock and product commodities.
The NGL LP Analyst is an expert in NGL & Chemical market fundamentals and is the steward of the NGL LP Fundamental Model. This role supports the Upstream Value Chain, Corp. Pricing teams through robust market modeling using linear programs to analyze global NGL supply & demand balances providing insights into market dynamics and commodity values. The model supports strategy development and improving business margins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor industry trends, capacities and utilization of pertinent facilities and transportation systems throughout the industry
  • Development and execution of linear program supply/demand models to assess market trends and commodity pricing
  • Manage significant data input in coordination with cross-enterprise subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Analyze business impacts of regulatory or environmental changes, shifting production forecasts & supply/demand balances, etc.
  • Collaborate to improve accuracy of Corporate and Value Chain pricing guidelines
  • Join multi-functional project teams on new business and process initiatives
  • Develop Points of View (POV) on trends/future direction and communicate to internal stakeholders

Required Education & Experience:

  • Business or technical (engineering, mathematics, science etc.) degree
  • Believe in getting results the right way
  • 5+ years of experience in any of, or a combination of commercial analytics in chemicals, energy, manufacturing/refining
  • Knowledge of LP software like What’s Best or equivalent
  • Team player and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Digital mindset and innovative thinker
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fundamental understanding of gas & NGLs
  • Bachelor’s degree
