Position Summary:

As a Senior Data Analyst you will work as part of our Operational Excellence team working across all 4 of our sites (Milton Keynes, Cambridge, North Allerton & Newport (Isle of Wight). You will be responsible for developing and delivering a plan for the company’s operational Data and Reporting Systems. This to deliver efficiency and resilience for the operation while in alignment with the overall company strategy goals. You will also be supporting the optimisation of existing processes within plant operations and operational responsibility for the technical specification of the new processes being implemented
The over-arching purpose of this role is to provide a professional data analytics support service to the operation. The role involves process design, but this is not seen as a sole primary activity. The role will best suit an experienced data analyst or continuous improvement manager with data analysis experience in data-driven businesses, who is comfortable both working with senior and delivery teams in industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building full data flow from source to report, in alignment with Standard Operational Models
  • Maintaining and supporting, but also evolving existing data analytics eco systems
  • Supporting the prioritisation of improvement effort by developing, reviewing and analysing data systems that translate into valuable insights
  • Increasing the number of people with the skills and capabilities
  • Designing, implementation, management of change, and maintaining data systems (capture, ingestion, analytics, reports and infrastructure); including fixing coding errors and other data-related problems to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Identify opportunities for data capture automation and mining of data that can translate into valuable insights for the business. Where automation might not possible, reviewing and setting up tools for robust manual data capture as source, mitigating associated risks.
  • Manage divisional dashboards, including reports, data sources and repositories, and related infrastructure (PowerBI admin).
  • Using of most appropriate analytical tools for the case use, including statistical and AI tools paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven business
  • Creating smart insights that allow a proactive business management
  • Developing, delivering and/or supporting the delivery of strategic improvement projects, change programmes, mobilisation and integration exercises, and innovation.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Communicates and persuades.
  • Design experience in data systems from source to insight consumer.
  • Computer literacy on standard suites
  • Previous experience as a Senior Data Analyst, Business Improvement Manager or similar in an operations or project delivery context
  • Ability to translate knowledge and understanding from experience in other industries to a new environment.
  • Competent to review and check work carried out by others within discipline scope.

  • Degree in computer modelling, science, math, engineering, analytics or similar.
