Position Summary:
OUTvest is a subsidiary of the OUTsurance group. One of the original fintech companies, where you always get something OUT. OUTvest aims to help make the experience of investing more accessible and more closely aligned to everyone’s needs.
OUTvest is expanding its actuarial and investment capability. We look after several investment products, including Voluntary, Tax-Free Savings Accounts, Retirement Annuities, Preservation Funds, Linked-Endowments and a Living Annuity (coming soon), and we need someone with actuarial skills to help us develop and maintain our products and system
Key Responsibilities:
Actuarial and Investment Specialists are responsible for maintaining and developing the actuarial processes that support the OUTvest investment platform. Examples include:
- Maintain and improve the cashflow modelling and investment tracking too. This would include an understanding of our stochastic modelling system
- Work agilely with other teams, like an IT software development team.
- Maintain and develop the automated advice framework. We are one of South Africa’s only automated advice platforms and are responsible for ensuring that our systems provide consistent, good-quality investment recommendations.
- Gaining insights from our client data to help create better investment solutions
- Supporting our MIS process where needed (i.e. calculation, or creation of various metrics related to a wide range of information required by management)
Required Education & Experience:
- We prefer some previous experience analysing and managing data and creating insights from data. We use SQL, and an intermediate understanding would be critical to success.
- A relevant financial/IT degree (including actuarial, maths, stats, Comp Sci or related)
- You have some experience in a role that has a basis in mathematical or statistical processes, for example, an actuarial analyst or analyst. We do not require expertise in investment,
